1. My youngest daughter the RN and her dentist husband have just taken off for Haiti. Now none of us are strangers to this kind of trip. I have made 15 or so trips to Juarez, Mexico and also just outside Mexico City to build schools and houses. We built an entire neighborhood one time. My kids usually went with me on these trips. But this is the first time Jennifer and Ryan have gone out of country without me. I hate not being in charge. However, I am very proud of them. They are using their skills and talents to improve someones life. It's still my prerogative to worry.
2. My oldest daughter, the mother of our only grandchild, Will, just told us that Will is going to be a big brother...times 2. Yup, twins. Everything is progressing on schedule so we have high hopes. The Dr. must be a vegetarian because he is always comparing the babies to fruits and vegetables. A few weeks ago they were the size of lentil beans, last week lima beans and lately, grapes. Maybe this next ultrasound will show walnuts or something like that. Anyway, all in all, great news! Sue and I are beside ourselves - we get to spoil 3 grand kids now. Holy cow, I just realized that I have to buy 2 more small kilts. Ahh, a quest.
Have your daughter pick you up a bottle of Barbancourt rhum. My co-worker from Haiti brought me back a bottle of the 8-year and will bring me back a 15-year. I love even more than Scotch (mea culpa) and this stuff is so far above anything I've ever tasted.
