History Scotland, Scotland’s premier history and archaeology magazine, is now available as a digital edition, meeting the growing global demand for the latest Scottish history and archaeology news.
History Scotland’s Managing Editor, Matt Hill, said: ‘The fantastic reaction to our digital edition and App has proved that there are thousands of people around the world with a passion for Scotland’s history and heritage. Thanks to the technology, which allows you to read each issue on an iPad or iPhone, or on a PC or Mac, we now have many more readers from countries such Japan, USA and Canada, all of whom enjoy the in- depth articles written by Scotland’s leading historians, archaeologists and curators.’

The July/August issue of History Scotland goes on sale today, and includes in-depth features on Scottish railways in World War I, recent research on medieval Scottish parks, the story of a scandalous 18th-century court case linked to a Banffshire estate, and much more. The lively news section includes the latest discoveries from the major archaeological dig at Edinburgh Castle, and details a new online archive which preserves rare Scots and Gaelic sound recordings.
