I was very happy when Andy Murray recently won the Olympic gold medal in men's singles tennis.
Soon after one of my friends posted a comment on Facebook saying hooray for Great Britain.
I immediately countered him with my own 2 cents by saying, 'No, hooray for Scotland - not Great Britain.'
I questioned myself afterwords, wondering if injecting my personal political passion into someone else's celebratory remark wasn't just a wee bit obnoxious of me.
Although I confess it just gets under my skin that England should be basking in the glow of a Scots achievement.
Thanks for the reality check. Yes it is true that Scotland is a member of the Kingdom but it was truly nice to see the Saltire waving. We here in the colonies are all "Americans" but the bonds run deep when the competition is between "states"
